As representatives of the people both Democrats and Republicans represent you as constituents. They are, by oath of office, to uphold the Constitution of the United States.
This entire health care bill, no matter how much good or bad that is in it, is a violation of the representatives oath of office as well as being in direct violation of the reason for the existence of the Federal Government.
The full extent for the existence of the Federal Government of the United States is the protection of the inalienable rights, freedoms and liberties of the people or citizenry.
This Bill is in gross violation of those rights, freedoms, and liberties, thus, is at odds with the intents of the Constitution, and as such, has no foundation in the Constitution. This bill limits rather than protects those rights, freedoms and liberties.
You do not read a bill only for what it says it will do, but for the evil that it can do. People press every limit in a bill. But this bill or any like it is in direct violation of the reason for the existence of the Federal Government of the United States.
This REASON for the existence of our Federal Government is found in the Declaration of Independence, which says:
WE hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness -- That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
That is the reason for government, and the Constitution is the principles or laws, by which, those unalienable rights are to be secured. Any law which takes away or limits those rights undermines the very reason for the existence of the Federal Government.
